The
Mile Festival began at 7:11 p.m. with the temperature at about 86° F and very
light rain. Twenty-seven athletes and
15 officials participated. Athletes ranged from 4 to 52 years in age with a
median age of 15. Gatorade sponsored
the event and provided sport drink.
This year a social was added to the Mile Festival with pizza and soft
drinks provided to athletes, officials, and spectators. The event ended at 8:30 p.m.
