Striders to Attempt World Record

1,000,000 Meter Relay or
100x10,000
(that's a lot of zeros!!!)

JTCRunning is Helping to Get the Word Out.....

Looking for volunteers to help 100 Striders going 1,000,000 meters to finish breast cancer....at world record speed!!  This event is a fund raiser for the Donna Foundation which benefits the Mayo Clinic and women living with breast cancer.  The record requires 100 people to run a 10K around a track (25 laps) in relay format by passing a baton from one runner to the next.

In order to make this event an official World Record, witnesses are needed who are not members of the Florida Striders Track Club.  This event will take place from the morning of Thursday December 3rd to the afternoon of Sunday December 6th and will take place at Bishop Snyder High School.  Volunteer shifts are to witness four different runners running their 10K around the track.  Once a runner starts with a certain witness present, he/she would stay until that runner finishes.  Volunteer slots are approximately 3 or 3 1/2 hours.  Two witnesses are needed at all times (day and night).  There will also be several Striders there during that time, but they cannot serve as witnesses.

Witnesses are able to use the track during their witnessing event, will receive a tee-shirt and know that they are helping raising money for a good cause.
