JTC RUNNING is a Road/ Cross Country Running and Track Club that is operated by Volunteers; we depend on our club members to periodically pitch in and help our few events per year to run well and be a success for all attending.
The hard jobs are done; 1st Place Sports stages our running events – they take care of setting up the start and finish areas, the timing system, directing the run and supplying the refreshment – both food and drinks. Club member responsibilities include handling day of run registration, working the refreshment tables, collecting of timing chips from finishers; the jobs are easy in most cases, usually fun, and occasionally challenging. They also allow members an opportunity to cultivate friendships other members. Contact Lamar at 904-388-7860 to sign up.
If you want a real challenge to test your fortitude and get a behind the scenes look at the staging of a big race, look no further. JTCRUNNING hosts the U.S. 15k National Championship Gate River Run every March right here in Jacksonville and would love to give volunteers a look at the work that goes into hosting 20,000 runners and accompanying guests. As if these motives aren’t enough, we here at JTC RUNNING also offer a Volunteer Rewards Program (VRP). Working those job described above can get you movie tickets, dinners, home supplies, and even a kayak excursion. You don’t have to sign up (for the VRP), just volunteer through Lamar or Doug (Gate River Run only) and points automatically accrue.
